the day: jan. 15th. low 20s, sunny, no wind in the woods.
the adventure: up and over town hill to the marsh with an initial rerouting of the trail around a huge mess of blowdowns behind bob & midge's, right where the trail joins the access road.
the memories: more than anything, the sun was out. it wasn't exactly warm, but given how cloudy it's been this winter, that was a treat. there is also a decent base, laying in wait for some snow to make it skiable! we stopped and had some tea at the beaver dam just before the creek goes out into the marsh.
notes:
- the little reroute makes for a pleasant, relaxed entry onto the road!
- all the rain we've had has made the grassy part of the marsh very wet!
- more snow would be really great!
- we should have brought a couple cookies to go with the tea!
go outside and play!
